It is absolutely amazing to me how fast she has learned to work video games! I think we should work more on reading! If she can learn video games, she can read!

Her Chair

Christina has had this chair for quite some time now. It has been positioned in many different spots in her room. Yesterday I moved some things around in her room & placed her chair at the end of her bed. Not far off from any of the other spots it had been before. But for some reason, its acceptable now. She has hardly sat in this chair before yesterday. Now, she is really enjoying it. This very small thing. A chair. Knowing how peaceful & content she is in the comfort of it. How happy & loved she feels. How very special she knows she is because her mommy brought her home a special new cup with flowers on it. Makes me feel special too.

All I had to do was ask...

I keep trying to get pictures of him. He won't stop moving. Ever. So I followed him around again as usual & I said "AJ say Cheese!". So he stopped and looked at me and said "Cheeeeese!" <3

My big girl!

I wish I had been keeping up with this blog better because then I would have recorded everything that little Miss Christina says. It's all amazing to me.

Just last night when I was going upstairs, she wasn't done with her dinner, but I needed to go get AJ ready for bed....so as I left to go, she says "don't wock the gate mommy". How she thinks ahead like that is beyond me. Even when Kathleen (her little friend from next door) was leaving last night she tells her "don't forget your sungwasses!". Kathleen had forgotten them last week.

Christina just seems to have everything already in her head. So when the right time arises, she already knows what to say...like she was just born with language and just is waiting to be able to use it all.

She is so super sweet. When I held the railing on the stairwell, she told me "Good Job, Mommy!". She will always tell her brother, "It's okay Buggy! Don't cry. It's oooooooooo kay." All the while rubbing his back and/or patting him.

She loves to brush her teeth. I recently got her a "Dora" Spinbrush and she just can't wait until she eats each meal so she can brush afterwards! She's always making sure AJ is going to brush too :-)

Every morning...and i mean EVERY morning, she is up no later than 6:15 (and that's if she slept late), so I'm able to see her before I leave for work. I give her a sippy with milk and either a chocolate bar (Granola Bar with chocolate chips) or a bi-new bar (Nutri-grain bar). She sits at her table in her room and eats breakfast while watching Nick Jr.

Christina is now VERY close to being able to dress herself. She really wants to and she does try. She is able to put most of her shoes on and definately her socks. She isn't as scared of going near the cars as she was before (when she wouldn't leave the house!), but she's still cautious and tells me before I leave for work - or when anyone leaves for that matter - to be careful and watch out for cars.

She is always so proud of her brother whenever he does anything new. She will even tell me when AJ gets in trouble to "be nice to him!" or if I check his sugar "don't hurt my brudder!". She is serious. Last week when I was upset with her for taking AJs toys (over and over again in true 2 year old fashion), I told her very sternly to go into her room and sit in her chair. She didn't listen so I raised my voice. I couldn't walk her in because at that point I was tending to AJ. She must have thought about it for a few seconds, marched right back in and shook her finger at me and said "mommy, that is not nice! do not do that again! okay?". I told her she needed to listen and to go sit down. She's a character. It's always a challenge trying to find a balance so that I let her be herself and not stiffle who she is all the while making sure I am teaching her how to be a good girl.

Christina is very much into her clothes, shoes and hair. She doesn't like her hair left down. She likes it brushed each night and put into pony tails or whatever. She loves her "pretty bows" and she loves to match. I can't imagine where she got that from, but I like it :-)

I will try to keep up better with this blog and as I remember things...I will post. There is just so much all of the time. I am absolutely amazed each day. I couldn't have dreamed up a better daughter. I love her so much.

My big boy!

When AJ started the transitional class I was really nervous and worried. I knew it was the right thing for him, but I also wasn't sure how long it would take him to get used to the setting being as it was so different from anything he'd ever experienced before AND without mommy and daddy there with him. I thought "one hour a week? it's gonna take months for him to get used to this!"

I was wrong.

He is now only crying when we leave him...a very short time - 20-30 seconds. He is used to the class and the therapists that are in there with him. He sits on his own now and claps during circle time, participates in the craft time (assisted of course) and isn't terribly anxious to go when we go in for him after the class. I was amazed and SO happy. He got such an amazing report from last week. I was smiling all day.

AJ is learning to say alot more things. He was saying "goooo" when you would say "ready, set", but then we started doing "one, two" and having him say "threeee" so he kinda got stuck on that. So it become "ready, set, THREEEEE". LOL Now he won't say either one anymore. He is stuck on the word "one". We count and count, but he's pretty stuck on "one" for the most part. He can say the other numbers, but he hasn't fully grasped it yet. If he says five, it's along with six...like they go together. "five, six". Randomly. He's just adorable.

He calls me "Me Me", but also says "meme" when he wants something. He is still a little hot headed, but the head banging is less, the freaking out is less and throwing things down the stairs has decreased tremendously. He even is listening better, which is SO wonderful. I told him to get down off of the table and he did right away. He got back up twice, BUT he listened to me when I told him to get down again and then stayed down.

He is nearly always happy. He loves to stack his blocks and carry them around. He is always so very proud of his accomplishments. He can see the joy and pride in our faces and it makes him so excited. If his blocks fall, he does throw a fit, but as he's crying he continues to rebuild his stack. Over and over again. He is very persistant. He always has been.

He is still amazing at bedtime. He never goes right to sleep and stays up alot longer than he ever used to because as soon as I put him in the bed he stands up to start playing with his aquarium! But he doesn't cry and he's a very good boy.

He still loves to ride in the car....but he does hate to get back in the car when we leave mom or grandma and aunt nancy's houses. He has such a wonderful time.

AJ is in LOVE with being outside. This has to be his favorite thing. He loves to just walk. He doesn't care where or who with, he's just thrilled to be out walking. He also loves riding in the wagon with his sister. He is not fond of coming back in the house much at all. Not at all. Nope. Not even a little. :-)

AJ brushes his teeth alot better now. He will put his head forward to put on his jammies at bedtime and he is always excited to be in the bathtub.

My son is such a loving, sweet and happy boy. I am so proud to be his mommy.

Growing Up Too Fast

AJ has started school. One hour a week...but it's wonderful for him. He's still adjusting, but it's very routine and it will help him transition into a classroom atmosphere. His symbol in the class is a school bus. So his bin and chair have a school bus on them. They do free play, circle time, craft time, snack time and then call for the parents. The only thing that really is hard for him is if another child is crying. That really upsets him. AJ is babbling ALL of the time. He repeats things often and I can see that he will be talking before long because he really wants to. He can say "bubble" and "ball" and his name along with "hewo" whenever he picks up my phone. So cute. He is stacking blocks really well...even holding his hand up to keep them from falling. He knows how to use a spoon, but hasn't mastered it yet. He's still very picky and he wants what he wants. He is so persistant and very much ALL BOY! He naps very well now, although not as long as I'd like and he sleeps throughout the night, not even waking up for medicine and blood sugar check.

Christina is talking up a storm. She's very sweet and happy like her brother - they adore each other. She takes good care of him and is always worried about him and looking out for him. Here are a few recent phrases from her that I don't want to forget:

1. "NO! Don't take it from me. I weed it to you." (talking about reading a book at bedtime)

2. "Bye Antzy! I weaving now!"

3. "I wuv you mommy. You are a pwincess."

4. Me: "Christina, get up to the table and play with your playdoh while your blankets dry." Christina: "Oh! Great Idea!"

5. "I know, I knoooooowwwww...you're a good boy!" (talking to Champ)

6. She stands at the stairs and says: "I be wight back mommy, awight?" in a very matter of fact way.

7. Christina, you are wonderful. "I AM wonderful".

This morning Christina & AJ went downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had visited & he had! He left sweet Easter Baskets & they were so excited! A few hours later, Christina walked up to me & said "I'm going to see the Easter Bunny & I'm going to say 'thank you'!"

Leaps & Bounds

When I ask AJ "Buggy, can I have a kiss?", he leans forward & makes a kiss sound :). Another new thing is that he did was try to put his shoe on. He held it down near his foot. :). He also took Christina's brush & tried to brush her hair! He's doing new things all of the time. He talks (no clue what he's saying) a lot more than he ever did before & he almost NEVER is still making pictures really difficult. Such a big boy & so sweet.

Easter Bunny

Today Christina & I went with Auntie Bean & Rachel to the "Cabin Fever" event at Auntie Bean's job. They had a huge moonbounce type of double slide, hula hoops, music, donuts & more! They even had the Easter Bunny show up & give out hugs & lollypops! Christina wasn't scared so long as Rachel went too. Rachel hugged the bunny again when we were on our way out & she told her Mommy she saw his real eyes. LOL

A Sick Princess

Tonight my princess went right to sleep for the second night in a row. This is VERY strange for Christina because she never enjoys going to sleep & fights it often. This is how you know my sweet pea doesn't feel good. This is how I left her tonight as she told Pinky about her doctor's visit. I always want her to be good & go right to sleep...but never because she doesn't feel good. I can't wait until my sun shines again.
