Obsession

I don't know what it is about the blinds...but my son LOVES them! Anywhere we are, if you have blinds, that's where you will find my baby. A ceiling fan has the same effect :-)

Things I want to remember about my babies...PART 2

Christina:

1. She is almost always happy.
2. As soon as I get her out of the crib in the morning she starts pointing around at things.
3. She ALWAYS smiles when she sees her brother.
4. She ADORES her cousins. She wants to copy everything they do. Even seeing pictures of them makes her smile big.
5. She is climbing up on everything now. She can get up and down off of chairs/couches.
6. She LOVES the songs from Dora and Diego shows.
7. She is always taking a cell phone (or what she thinks is a cell phone) and putting up behind her ear saying "Yeah?" really loud!
8. She hates to take naps...still.
9. She will take every toy AJ has...still. But now he can get it back and occasionally if he cries, she gives it back.
10. She will, 95% of the time, give you the item that she has in her possesion that she is not supposed to have. 5% of the time she will make a run for it.
11. She is nervous around new people and she wants me to hold her until she gets comfortable....still.
12. She LOVES to eat. She eats anything and everything from vegetables to ice cream to books. Actually, there isn't anything she won't try to eat.
13. She is infatuated with the baby wipes. She will play with them and eat them.
14. She is also infatuated with all remotes and cell phones and has known from very early on that the remote operates the TV.
15. She can jump.
16. She is NEVER still.
17. She will sing along to songs with you, at church, tv, etc. She likes to sing 'Row Row Row Your Boat'
18. She is very good at nap/bed time. She loves to play her aquarium when she goes down and when she wakes up in the morning.
19. She throws her pacis out of the crib so I keep about 10-15 in her crib for her.
20. She reads :-)

21. She runs head first. Always has to be carrying something.
22. She likes to eat and run. Meaning she will take a bite, run away and come back for another bite.
23. She is very difficult to change. She will NOT lay still.
24. She almost NEVER fusses if she falls or bumps her head or hurts herself.
25. She makes this really sweet noise whenever she wants something...it's copying off of a noise I make to her whenever I'm asking her a question.
26. She knows where to put her shoes and socks and will even take AJs socks and lay them on top of his feet.
27. If I'm sitting on the floor, sometimes she will come up from behind me and hug my back.
28. She texts on my phone. She actually types and gets texts sent off!
29. She loves to be outside.
30. She feeds herself. She is a big girl now. She knows what to do with the spoon and is working on perfecting that skill.

AJ:

1. Like his sister, he is happy almost all of the time.
2. He started crawling and now the therapist is working on helping him to walk. He really doesn't choose to crawl much so he won't go from room to room, but he will crawl fast after a ball or around the room to whatever he's trying to get to.
3. He likes to hum if you are singing to him. He immatates some things and he loves to babble and spit - raspberries.
4. He is now sleeping better at night. He only keeps me up a short time in the middle of the night. He's doing alot better at sleeping in his crib.
5. He still always grabs his shirt with both of his hands when he gets very sleepy or when he's going to sleep.
6. He can get his paci back in himself, but not easily and not always the right way...but he's getting there!
7. He stares at me when I sing to him. He loves to be sang to.
8. He LOVES to be kissed.
9. He LOVES books. he loves to be read to and he loves to flip books open and closed.
10. He is not fond of going to sleep in his crib, but he's getting better.
11. When somebody new walks into the room and says Hi to him, he buries his face in whoever is holding him (while he's smiling) or if he's on the floor he will drop his face down to the floor playing shy.
12. He tries to eat the wipes when you wipe his mouth after he eats.
14. He can sleep on his Grandma for days....still.
15. He is very easily startled. When he doesn't feel good, if Christina screams it really upsets him.
16. He LOVES his sister, though. A lot. He tries to grab her everytime she's near him.
17. He loves "ride-a-little-horsey"...still. And Pat-A-Cake
18. He is very ticklish...he laughs out loud over and over.
19. When he first wakes up in the morning and I tickle him softly he has this little giggle he does that is so sweet.
20. His hair is REALLY long and REALLY curly.
21. He is VERY hot most of the time like his mommy...still.
24. He won't keep his socks on.
25. He also loves cell phones and remotes and will focus on it and go VERY fast to get them.
26. He is also very wiggly and hard to change now.
27. He loves TV alot more than his sister does. He likes the Backyardigans the best.
28. His favorite toy is a ball.

29. He always wants to make sure he knows where he is...he looks around and checks the whole room out nomatter where he is. Familiarity is very important to him.
30. He doesn't like to eat. When he does, he will only eat fruit or breakfast babyfood. He will take a bottle with older baby formula..but not easily. He is improving though and works with a therapist weekly.

They play and laugh together. they interact quite a bit and think each other are pretty funny and pretty great. They are both down to 1 nap a day now...they are both really too busy to be bothered. Life is great for them :-)

Holiday Season

I love this time of year. I love the weather, the holidays, the music...the smells and more excuses for family to be together. I love it. I can't believe this will be the babies' second Christmas. This year they won't sleep through their visit with Santa. I'm not sure how well that will go actually! Here are a couple of pictures from our annual Tree Trimming party at Mom's house this past Sunday.

It's not lookin' too good.

I really can't find the time for this blog right now. I feel awful because I know alot of people were enjoying it, but as you have noticed, it's not looking like I'll be able to keep it up. I'm not going to take it down because I still hold hope that in the near future I can find the time to do it again, but until my son starts to SLEEP, it's not going to happen.

Wow Time Flies!

I'm not even going to TRY to go back in time and catch up - I'm just going to update you and post the newest pictures! I just really don't have the time. I am going to try to do better at updating though, but sometimes it's just not possible. Right after I posted the last time, AJ started to not do well. He wasn't sleeping well and would cry out alot. He's been on antibiotics twice now for his left ear and the teething is really A LOT harder on him than it is on Christina. When he's teething hard and his ear has fluid...we don't sleep much. We still have him on the prevacid for reflux, but I'm not going to try to take him off again for another few weeks. It's hard to tell what's really hurting him when there are so many things going on. Other than that...he is SO sweet. He has this little Woody The Woodpecker laugh that he does ALL the time and it just cracks everybody up. He is lunging alot and is frustrated with his immobility...which is good! He needs that motivation! His therapist is just wonderful though and she's got another lady coming out to help us with feeding him. The baby does not eat. At least not much. He's in the 13th percentile for weight. I finally got him to eat a jar of sweet potatoes and turkey last night so I'm feeling a little better. There's a long story that goes with all of that, not blog-worthy. AJ is a very, very happy baby. He smiles all of the time when he's feeling good and he's so very patient. He loves to stand these days and he just got some new shoes :-) Thanks Aunt Nancy! All in all, he's doing well and he's a wonderful boy. Christina. Wow. Once she started walking she didn't stop. With something in-hand, she will walk EVERYWHERE! She has started pointing and giving you things and then taking it back. She tries to put AJ's paci in his mouth, but she also takes it too. It's a game for her. She is VERY smart. She copies everything. She stopped letting me feed her a couple of weeks ago. She would hit the spoon when I tried. She now feeds herself. It's a huge clean up, but she will sit and eat for a good amount of time and she's getting better. She's also not very picky, which is a wonderful thing! My daughter eats green beans. She is also a wonderful sleeper. She will go right into her crib after a bottle and after a little play time, she goes to sleep. She LOVES her cousins and loves to walk around outside. Sundays are GREAT fun for her! Christina is so happy and sweet and such a big girl. She really is trying to grow up fast. I'm going to have to install brakes on that one. The babies REALLY LOVE each other. They smile HUGE when they see each other first thing in the morning or after a nap. They splash in the tub together, they copy each other making sounds, hitting their tray at dinner time, etc. Here are some pictures of the past month and a half. Enjoy!

Christina Walking & Waving

Here is a much better video of Miss Lil Bitz walking. She waves and says "Hi" alot of the time when she's not clapping! She can't say "Bye" yet, but she certainly knows what it means!

AJ in the Mirror

He looks at me in this mirror ALL of the time when it's story time. It's so cute and funny!
