Christina yells "AJ!" & he screams & runs & they chase each other squeeling. It's the cutest thing the way they play together. I love how they love each other.

AJ's GI Appointment

This morning AJ is going to see a Gastrointerologist at Children's Hospital in DC. I will update later!

UPDATE! They took a lot of blood from AJ. 4 tubes, although it should have been 5. They couldn't get enough blood. He wasn't dehydrated enough. Well, he doesn't drink very much. Poor baby. They will run all sorts of tests. The only one they can't run is the allergy test (that would have been the 5th tube). They gave him medicine for reflux that should take about 2 1/2 weeks to start working and I'll have to get that filled tomorrow because it'll need to go to the special pharmacy to be compounded. They also want him to drink more milk and suggested putting carnation in it to see if it will taste better for him. They gave Avery a list of different foods to try with carbs to help him put on some weight. I don't have all of the details until I get home and see all of the notes.

I love it when AJ smiles so big, his eyes close.
Avery just called & AJ is learning to eat with a spoon. He held it & tried then daddy helped him guide the spoon to his mouth. So proud of my baby buggy :)

Things I want to remember about my babies...PART 3...

Where did the time go?

My babies are 2. They turned 2 last October. The BEGINNING of October. So when do I stop calling them babies? I really don't know. Leave me alone about it though. If you call them kids or toddlers...I just might not talk to you. Here is an update...still using the same format from the very beginning. :-) I just like it that way so I can compare.

Christina:

1. She is almost always happy. I just don't think this number one will EVER change...and I thank God for that. Most recently, Gran Gran and Antzy showed her what her happy face was. And she wears it. And loves it. She smiled at me through her teeth she said "see my happy face?"

2. When she wakes up in the morning and she hears one of us, she calls for us. But she always stays in her bed. She will say "i wanna go bye bye mommy" or "i wake up!" or "where's AJ?" or "Daddy wok?" or "I wet, but not poopy, mommy". ;-)

3. She loves her brother beyond words. She always asks for him and worries about him. She pats him and tells him "It's OK AJ". She pulls him to play with her and tells him "NO" when she feels appropriate. She is so good for him.

4. She ADORES her cousins. She wants to copy everything they do. They hung the moon, you know. I said "Hurry up, Christina! Rachel is waiting for you!" and she said "and Ashee waiting and Awee waiting and aunt bean waiting TOO!"

5. She can pretty much reach all of the door knobs and with the help of her stool, the light switches. She is a huge climber so I have to watch out or she'll be on top of things she shouldn't - like her kitchen or AJ's nice toys!

6. She LOVES Lazy Town. She was on a Backyardigans kick for a minute...and still loves them a TON...but she really can watch Lazy Town over and over exclusively at this point. She loves Yo Gabba Gabba too - we all do, but mostly it's the songs in these shows. She loves to sing and dance.

7. If she chooses...she can have full conversations over the phone now. She still likes to push the buttons...but she also knows which button makes the phone light back up and which one to hang up, so people don't get hung up on so much anymore :-) She thoroughly enjoys calling everyone at bedtime.

8. She is AWESOME at nap time. She knows she has to stay in her bed. She never cries or throws a fit. She does NOT always sleep, but if I tell her we have something special to do later...she sleeps.

9. She still wants what AJ has...or anybody. Like most little ones (and puppies), they want what YOU have, even if it sat there for DAYS!

10. She has turned out to be an excellent listener. She does yell "NO" and gets upset sometimes, especially when she's tired, but for the most part...if you are serious with her, she says "Awight Mommy, Awight. I sowwy" and she does what she should. She stopped throwing temper tantrums about 3 weeks after she started...and they were mild when they did happen.

11. She is nervous around new people and she wants me to hold her until she gets comfortable....STILL. BUT...she does warm up alot faster than she used to. She even starts showing off :-)

12. She still loves to eat...but SNACKS. Fruit snacks are her favorite snack time food...but icecream with sprinkles tops everything. She will drink EVERY LAST drop of that icecream bowl.

13. She still puts baby wipes in her mouth. Ugh. But mostly she wipes everything. She loves to clean and HATES to be messy. I love that about her. If her hands are messy while she eats, she HAS to have a wipey to clean up! She likes to wipe off crayon from books, clean the table after she eats, etc.

14. She still loves remotes and cells...but not so infatuated with them anymore. She is more into my camera now. Luckily, for Christmas, Antzy got her one of her very own. The past 2 nights she has had it in bed with her. Lord knows what she's taking pics of in the dark. LOL

15. She loves to jump and dance around.

16. She is NEVER still and she NEVER stops talking. Ever.

17. She loves to sing. She can sing all of her alphabet, jingle bells, hello song, happy birthday, twinkle twinkle and if she hears a song on the TV, she can pretty much remember it the next time it's on.

18. Her memory is AMAZING. I can't get over how much she can remember. If you say something one time...2 months later she will have remembered that.

19. She threw away the paci on her own - with bribery.

20. Her favorite books are "How to catch a Star" and "If you Give a Pig a Party". She knows the words that go with each page. She will no longer let me read "Llama Llama Mad at Mama". I accidently hit her LIGHTLY while being animated and demonstrating the little Llama's behavior ONE time. The next time she scooted away on that page. The time after she got up and walked away. She said. "it hurt head" Now, no more. I loved that book.

21. She runs head first...still.

22. She likes to eat and run...still. Meaning she will take a bite, run away and come back for another bite.

23. She will tell me if she's wet or poopy, but she still hasn't decided that she wants to actually do it on the potty yet...but we are close! She likes the idea of it and asked to go Potty occassionally. Sometimes when I ask her she says yes, sometimes no, but she has yet to actually do anything while there.

24. She almost NEVER fusses if she falls or bumps her head or hurts herself, BUT if she feels she can get a "bandaid dora"...she will "fake" hurt.

25. She says my name over and over again. A lot of times she doesn't really know what she wants.

26. She can put on her shoes and fasten them by herself if they are slip on or dress ones that just velcro shut. She always takes them off in the car though. Along with her socks.

27. She will always want to kiss you if you have a boo boo, but if you ask her to kiss people goodbye, she often just gives her cheek. A lot of times when we are home, she gives me smooches on my mouth. She runs up and hugs me ALL the time.

28. She always sits still and lets me do her hair. She's so patient. She loves her "pitty bows" and will take her stool over to her nightstand mirror so that she can see herself when I'm all done.

29. She loves to be outside. She loves to go bye bye but when we are in the car she always ALWAYS takes off her shoes and socks.

30. She feeds herself pretty well. Even better if it's Ice Cream with sprinkles. Preferably chocolate icecream :-)

31. She loves to help put the hair products in her hair and put lotion on herself.

32. She can count up to 10. She loves to play hide-n-seek. Although she never does the hiding and when she's counting, she counts less and less each time!

33. There are too many words to list that Christina says, but she talks sentences and you can have a regular conversation with her. I will probably update this one entry when I can think of some things specifically that she says that are so sweet. If you think of any, please comment or email to me.

AJ:

1. Like his sister, he is happy almost all of the time. He throws fits when he doesn't get his way or he can't manipulate a toy the way he wants...but I see major improvement all of the time.

2. He walks, hops, runs...not as balanced and steady as I'd like outside, but he just needs more practice come spring!

3. He's in this spitting phase, but the biting has stopped. He just is learning slowly how to express himself, get attention and always new things he realizes he can do.

4. He sleeps in his crib all night. He doesn't even wake up for his 2am medication. He goes to bed around 7:30 everynight and without a problem. He enjoys his things...aquarium, seahorse, etc.

5. He still always grabs his shirt with both of his hands, but he does it mostly when he's mad.

6. Soon after he was able to get his paci in and out with no problem, we took them away. AJ never missed his paci.

7. He still stares at me when I sing to him. He loves to be sang to. LOVES.

8. He LOVES to be kissed and when you say "I love you" - he stops and turns to look. It always catches his attention.

9. He LOVES books. NOT to be read to JUST to flip them open and closed.

10. AJ can say AJ, Uh Oh, Oh Boy, Good Boy, Hewwo, Mama

11. When somebody new walks into the room and says Hi to him, he buries his face in whoever is holding him (while he's smiling) or if he's on the floor he will drop his face down to the floor playing shy. STILL.

12. He tries to eat the wipes when you wipe his mouth after he eats. STILL.

13. He will throw something in the sink, or put something where it gets stuck, scream because he wants it, you retrieve it and he does the same thing...over and over and over again.

14. He can sleep on his Grandma for days....STILL.

15. He is very easily startled. When he doesn't feel good, if Christina screams it really upsets him. He's still the same way. He functions best in his own room. If he's somewhere other than home, he doesn't eat well and the chaos is hard on him when we have company.

16. He LOVES his sister, though. A lot. He tries to grab her everytime she's near him. She can't wear polkadot pants or stripes or fun patterns without him obsessing over them.

17. He loves Pat-A-Cake - clapping hands...peek-a-boo and he LOVES for you to tickle him! He will belly laugh if you tickle him.

18. He throws things down the stairs all the time. He won't stop. He just does it everyday nomatter what you do.

19. When he first wakes up in the morning he just starts softly chatting to himself.

20. He now gets his hair cut. It's so much easier on us all and so very cute.

21. He is very hot natured...but he's so thin he can get cold fast. Sometimes he'll catch a little chill. He just has no fat on his body.

24. He won't keep his socks on or his shoes. In fact, alot of times when we arrive somewhere in the car, his socks will be WET!

25. He also loves cell phones and remotes and will focus on it and go VERY fast to get them. However, he will hand me my cell when I catch him.

26. He is difficult to change because he doesn't want to stop playing. Everytime I try to change his clothes, he's biting his shirt and sleeves...it takes double the time to change him than it does to change Christina.

27. He loves Moose and Zee on Nick Jr...and his favorite is Chickie-Poo and Fluff: Barnyard Detectives.

28. His favorite toy is a ball. He doesn't care whose ball it is. And - the ball ALWAYS goes under something. And he screams.

29. He is in a bad phase of gagging himself...but we are seeing specialists about that. He's still drooling alot...but i don't think as bad.

30. He eats so well. Besides gagging, for the most part, he will even take a piece of chicken and feed himself. You have to put one item on the tray at a time or he will put too much in. And if he doesn't want what you give him...it goes flying.

31. He drinks from a sippy now. He will not hold it, but he loves apple juice and orange juice and will drink the entire cup.

32. He stopped screaming during bathtime and now does amazing. He loves to splash and he loves to play in the water as it runs in the tub.

33. I think his screaming is getting less as his development improves, but he still screams when i leave the room for a moment.

Tonight Christina had to get in bed with me because she was scared. I snuggled her, covered her up & she just smiled. I'm in Heaven.

My head hurts. Christina told me to "lay down right there".
She wants to sit in my WAP & COWAH (color). LOL

Moon Bounce in the HOUSE!

Okay, so Avery got the babies a moon bounce for Christmas. LORD only knows where he planned on having them play on it...but we'll think on it. In the meantime he thought he'd unroll it to see how big it actually was...and I hear myself saying "just go ahead and blow it up". I think I was only brave because Kristen and the kids were over! They had a great time! All the pics are in my shutterfly gallery for you to see. After the moon bounce was deflated, I had a new appreciation for my small living room's size! Besides, it WAS Kristen's bday...and everybody needs a moonbounce at a birthday party!

Happy Birthday, Kristen :-)
